Somewhere along the line, I lost my ability to draw. As life went on, I found that my hands couldn't produce the kind of artwork I wanted for my games, and so instead I focused more on graphic and game design.

I'll admit it, I'm a little crazy. I often obsess over the small details. But, it's that little bit of crazy that propels the games I design forward. Here's a great example of obsessing over those small details that probably no one cares about…

I'm pumped to reveal the box art for our upcoming engine-building game Star Tycoon. A big thanks to our artist @miksdickinson for his amazing work.

I've been asked so many questions about the Special Edition Box since it was announced, and even more in the last few weeks.

It's been a big month for us here at Mothership HQ. When I say 'us' of course I mean just me...and when I say 'Mothership HQ' I mean my house. But it makes it sound very exciting doesn't it?

The box art features gold foil and spot UV on a matt black box. I loved the minimalistic style of the original box made in 2016 so much that I really wanted to bring it back. But, the front of the box is not the best part...the best part is what comes INSIDE the box...7 custom plastic trays to hold EVERYTHING.

Here's your first look at the Mothership Limited Edition box! It's reminiscent of the 1st edition special box from 2016, with minimal spot UV and gold foil highlights. If you think the outside looks good, wait until you see what's inside More info to come later this month.

Pre-production (the time spent finalizing files and artwork) finished at the end of June. The next step is creating a sample. That's what the manufacturer has been working on since July 1st.

Production has 100% finished! This is amazing news because it means we're on the home stretch. Currently, the games are sitting in a warehouse in China and are awaiting the fulfilment team's instructions.

In the last update I mentioned that full production had started...well now it has almost finished! The team at Boda Games have really done a great job in getting the game made in a timely manner. I have even been sent the final retail release to quality check.

All the files have been finalized and samples approved...Boda Games has started full production on Mothership! This means we are well on schedule for a February 2020 ship date.

There's been an update in the card artwork for all the purple action cards. The older artwork was good, but Alkira wasn't happy with it as it was too busy to be behind text.

I've got another huge update for all of you, let's jump into it...

The 1st Edition of Mothership was handled by a company named WinGo who are known for a few Kickstarter games. They were great to work with and the minis were fantastic, but quality issues with some of the printed materials and increasing costs made us look elsewhere for a new factory.
